Prescription Sunglasses
We can put prescription lenses in almost any frame, but we will suggest to you what will be your best options based on extensive research and development from the current technology.
We believe in a very high quality finished product. We mainly work with the brands highlighted below but will happily discuss doing prescription lenses for your favourite frames.
Polarized
Polarization is a filter that is embedded into the lens. Its main purpose is to block glare. It helps to reduce eye strain and fatigue. Recommended for most activities including but not limited to: driving, cycling, golfing, skiing, shooting and fishing.
Tinted lenses
Tints of any colour can be applied to lenses. Lighter, fashion tints are used primarily for aesthetic purposes to enhance a wearer’s looks. Darker tints allow the wearer to use the lenses as sunglasses Colour can be added to a lens as a solid tint, -the entire lens has the same color density or as a gradient tint, -where the color density is darkest at the top of the lens and gradually fades to clear or nearly clear at the bottom.
Photochromatic
lenses such as those supplied by us are clear (or almost clear) indoors and darken automatically in response to sunlight outdoors. Photochromatic lenses or Transitions lenses (as they’re sometimes called) are available in nearly every lightweight lens material and lens design, including bifocals and progressive lenses. They are available in gray and brown shades.
Transitions XTRActive
are designed primarily for outdoor wear and daylight driving as they become darker than regular Transitions, particularly behind a car’s windshield. These lenses have a moderate tint for driving and darken further when directly exposed to sunlight.
